Ohm's Law Calculator

Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points.

• V (Voltage): The pressure from an electrical circuit's power source that pushes charged electrons (current) through a conducting loop, enabling them to do work such as illuminating a light. Measured in Volts (V).
• I (Current): The flow of electrical charge. Measured in Amperes (A).
• R (Resistance): A measure of the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit. Measured in Ohms (Ω).

Visualizing the Relationship

Imagine water flowing through a pipe. Voltage is like the water pressure, Current is like the amount of water flowing, and Resistance is like the size of the pipe. If you increase the pressure (Voltage) or increase the pipe size (decrease Resistance), more water (Current) flows!
